When I first began my journey into mediumship and my psychic abilities—known as *Clairs—started to come online, my husband was honestly terrified for me and of me. And this is a man who served as a Marine; not much shakes him. But the fear wasn’t really about me—it was about what we had both been taught. He had been deeply indoctrinated by religious teachings that framed anything outside of their narrow definition of “acceptable spirituality” as dangerous or evil. And to be honest, I was too- but as I was waking up to more truth and the indoctrination was unraveling, I found myself invigorated! Excited about life, which was a far cry from my old self who hid in the corners, not wanting to be seen.
I remember being so afraid of “going against God” that I wouldn’t even watch something as lighthearted as The Big Bang Theory. I thought it was blasphemous. I thought it was satanic. That’s how strong my conditioning was.
At first, my husband thought my abilities were dark, too. He worried about what it meant, what forces I might be inviting in. But everything shifted when he began attending my events. He saw firsthand the healing that was happening—not just for the people receiving readings, but for those simply witnessing others being read. There was a ripple effect in the room. Tears, laughter, release, and a sense of connection that went far beyond the individual.
Healing, after all, comes from love. And love is the purest expression of the divine.
The interesting—and heartbreaking—thing is how distorted our understanding of God and Satan has become. There has been such a bastardization of these concepts that many of us are tricked into believing that good things, beautiful things, and powerful things that happen for us are somehow evil. We are told to fear our own abilities, our own intuition, our own connection to spirit. We are taught that somehow the very God that gave you this life, would trick you into having abilities and punish you for using them. Let that sink in for just a moment.
Why would this happen? Because there is power there. And when we recognize how powerful we truly are, we become dangerous to those who wish to control us. Systems built on fear cannot survive when people awaken to their own power and eternal love.
Mediumship, psychic awareness, and spiritual abilities are not about darkness—they are about illumination. They remind us that we are not separate from the divine, but expressions of it. They remind us that healing is possible, that connection is real, and that love is the ultimate force.
So what began as fear—for both me and my husband—has transformed into faith. Faith not in dogma, but in the living, breathing presence of spirit. Faith in the power of love to heal. Faith in the truth that when we embrace our God-given abilities, we are not turning away from God—we are stepping closer to the divine essence that has always been within us.
Psychic:
The word "psychic" is derived from the Greek word "psychikos," meaning "of the mind" or "mental," and is related to the human mind or psyche. It also connects to the Greek mythology figure Psyche, who represents the soul. The term first appeared in the 1840s and has roots in both Greek and Latin, with earlier forms including "psychical". In Greek, "psyche" means "soul" or "breath of life," emphasizing its spiritual significance. **Wikipedia
The Clairs
The clairs refer to a set of extrasensory perceptions or intuitive senses that allow individuals to receive spiritual information.
- Clairvoyance (“clear seeing”) Seeing visions, images, colors, symbols, or flashes in the mind’s eye (third eye).
- Clairaudience (“clear hearing”) Hearing words, sounds, music, or voices internally or externally that carry intuitive meaning. This is my strongest Clair and how I receive a good amount of information from Spirit.
- Clairsentience (“clear feeling”) Feeling emotions, sensations, or energy in the body as a way of receiving information.
- Claircognizance (“clear knowing”) Sudden insights, ideas, or knowledge that arrive without logical explanation.
- Clairalience (“clear smelling”) Smelling scents (like perfume, flowers, smoke) with no physical source, often tied to spirit presence.
- Clairgustance (“clear tasting”) Tasting something without eating it, usually symbolic or linked to spirit communication. This is NOT my favorite Clair. I have tasted some nastiness. But, I honor spirit and allow it, just as long as it's gone quickly.
- Clairtangency (“clear touching”) Also called psychometry—receiving information by touching objects, places, or people.
- Clair-empathy (“clear emotional sensing”) Feeling and absorbing the emotions or energy of others, sometimes confused with clairsentience but more relational.
